THE 42nd ANNUAL HANCOCK REGATTA

July 13, 14 & 15, 2007

Location:         Hancock Marina, MCAS, Cherry Point, NC and Neuse River

 

Eligibility:       Any monohull sailing vessel. To compete and be scored, a vessel must possess a

                        current  PHRF rating.

 

Entry:              A properly completed entry form, signed waiver of liability and check for the

                        $65.00 entry fee must be received at HYC no later than Friday July 6th.  Late

entries will be accepted until 9:30 am, July 14th for a fee of $75.00.  US Sailing members may deduct 10%.  The Skipper’s Package includes two T-shirts and two tickets to the dinner on Saturday night.  Additional dinner tickets and T-shirts will be sold for $12.00 each.  All racing vessels must be registered prior to 9:30 am on July 8th.  IMPORTANT: Due to increased security at MCAS, Cherry Point, NC, all participants who have crew arriving by automobile must submit their entries by July 6th, including the names of all crew members.  Send list on back of entry form or send to Marty Warner, 110 Dolores Court, Havelock, NC 28532, email: rwarner4@ec.rr.com.

 

Classes:           Class A – Spinnaker

                        Class B – Non-Spinnaker Performance

                        Class C – Non-Spinnaker Cruising

                        Class D – One design

Schedule:         Friday, July 13th – 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Yacht arrival and registration at Hancock Marina. A limited number of slips are available on a first come-first served basis. Call Channel 68. A shuttle service will be provided for boats that have to anchor in Hancock Creek. Complimentary beer, soft drinks, brats and burgers will be served.

 

                         Saturday, July 14th

                                Registration - 7:00 to 9:00 am. Complimentary coffee & donuts.

                                Skipper’s Meeting - 10:00 am

                                Racing Starts – 12:00 noon. Two (2) races are scheduled.

                                Dinner (including complimentary wine, beer and set-ups)

                                                 will be at approximately 6:30 pm

                                Party on the docks at the Tiki Bar - 8:00 pm

 

                          Sunday, July 15th. – Coffee & donuts at 8:00 am

                                 Skipper’s Meeting – 9:00 am

                                 Race Starts – 11:00 am

                                 Awards Ceremony ASAP after the race

 

Safety:               All vessels must comply with the USCG equipment and safety requirements and  

                           Navigation Rules.  Races will be cancelled or postponed in the event that severe     

                           NOAA weather warnings are issued on VHF Channel 16 by NWS, Newport.
