Finally, it has been a slow month after all of the effort that so many of us put into the NYRA Invitational and NCYRA. The only major race this month was the Indian Isle to Ocracoke race. I did not participate in the race and have not seen any results. If anyone would like to submit an article about it we will get it into next month's newsletter.

Looking forward, we have the Hancock Regatta on July 9 and 10. This is a BOTY event and Hancock YC always does a good job as host with free slips. The NOR can be found here. On July 29 we will revive the Parrothead race to Oriental. Hopefully it will be more of a race than the drifter water balloon fest that last year's race became, not that I am against water balloons in this race. This year we plan to do a pursuit race with the slowest boats starting first and time corrections based on time on distance PHRF. As in the past, we will have a raft up party and awards in Oriental harbor after the race. This NOR and Sailing Instructions are now available.

On August 5 and 6 ODC will host the Dragon's Breath Regatta. This is both a BOTY race and an ICRC event. Please plan to race in order to support NYRA. We have been in second place for several ICRC races and need a few more boats and a little better performance to eclipse ODC.
