LouAnn Parins Explains how she and Margaret Alexander Won the NYRA Women's Race
As the end of the year approaches, we have some serious
business to take care of. Bill Jarvis, Mike Foster, and Tom McKnight are
the nominating committee for the board for next year. If you are interested
in running or know someone who is, please let
one of this group know. In particular, we are in the market for a new
Vice Commodore as the current one thinks that having twins may occupy
too much of his time.
We also need nominations for Crew of the Year (COTY). This award is based only on the nominations from our members and any NYRA member is eligible for the award. If you have an outstanding crew that is not a NYRA member, it is not too late to buy them a membership so they can be properly recognized. I would also expect the skippers of those BOTY contenders to recognize their crew!
Finally, I received an email from Guy Staat, who has led the effort for the past few years to organize the NCYRA regatta over Memorial Day. He is looking for a replacement to help out this year. If anyone is interested please contact Guy at: ncyra1@wbora.org
