May 14, 2008 Update
The NCOC 2008 was quite excellent sea conditions this year, with winds out of the north, the sea conditions were relatively calm for the amount of wind! We appreciate everyone who participated and look forward to seeing you all next year. We request that you spread the word and bring more boats for next year's event..
The 2008 North Carolina Offshore Championship was held in Beaufort, NC. This regatta, formerly known as NCYRA, is organized by the Neuse Yacht Racing Association. The North Carolina Offshore Championship, along with the Bald Head Island Regatta are the premier offshore sailboat regattas in North Carolina.
The NCOC Regatta was sailed off of North Carolina's beautiful Crystal Coast over the traditional Memorial Day weekend. All socials and race activities were at the maritime center this year, along with free dockage to participating sailboats, giving us one central location for race management, dockage and the socials.
The race is open to PHRF and one design boats. Please see the Notice of Race for additional details.
Once again, next year's 2009 North Carolina Offshore Championships will be held off of Beaufort, NC over the Memorial Day weekend. The Notice of Race will be posted on this site and announcements will be made when registration has begun. As with this year's event, we anticipate that next year's race will be based out of the new Gallants Channel Maritime Center. We will hopefully be able to again offer free slips to the first 15 boats that register for the regatta.
